International Education

With globalization of both economies and education, Shangde aims to provide pathways with an international vision that promotes global citizenship.  The school received official authorization by the International Baccalaureate Organization in April 2010, thus became an IB World School.  Influenced by the IB concepts, Shangde has carried out the exploration of local and international curricula, combined the advantages, and is committed to cultivating Chinese citizens who will have positive impacts on the world.

Shangde has established friendships and partnerships with many first-class overseas schools, such as Westover School, Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Nacel Open Door Inc., King’s Academy, Ivanhoe Grammar School, Columbia International College in America, Bond International College in Canada, Bendigo Senior Secondary College in Australia, Rotorua Boys’ High School in New Zealand and Dayuan Academy in Korea, to run exchange programmes of teachers and students, and to recruit overseas students.

Broad international perspective and advanced educational philosophy have not only brought Shangde international reputation but also attracted famous experts from both China and abroad, including Anne Tolley, Minister of Education in New Zealand, Guru Sukarno, president of Indonesian Sukarno Foundation, and Dr. J Mark Hensman, Principal of Harrow International Schools, as well as many other American, Australian, and German education experts.

Shangde students have more access to world culture as well as communication with education experts and students from different countries, which promotes the melting of different languages and cultures together with the extension of brand new ideas and perspectives.
